Standard Booking Conditions

1) Payment: reservations are secured on receipt of a deposit of £100 per person. The balance is payable six weeks prior to the commencement date of the holiday. Holidays booked after this period should be paid in full on booking. Cheques and postal orders should be made payable to 'Lomond Walking Holidays'. Credit card payments are also accepted but are subject to a handling fee of 2%. If you do not pay the balance 6 weeks prior to the holiday departure date, at our discretion, your holiday booking may be cancelled with a forfeit of the deposit. Note no payment reminder is sent out. Prepayments received from customers will be placed in a separate trust account until completion of the holiday in accordance with EC Package Holiday Directives. Prices include VAT at 17.5% or the applicable levels.

2) Cancellations: The deposit is forfeited on any cancellation. Cancellations must be notified in writing and sent by recorded delivery. For cancellations at less than 6 weeks the following refunds will result: 41-28 Days before start - 75% of balance 27-14 Days before start - 50% of balance, 13-0 Days before start - nil.

Lomond Walking Holidays reserve the right to cancel trips under exceptional circumstances and will inform you promptly and offer (a) a transfer to a substitute trip or (b) offer an alternative trip, which if of a lower cash value, will include a cash adjustment refund, or (c) offer a total refund of all prepaid monies. If a minimum number for a trip is not reached (4) we reserve the right to cancel the trip.

3) Insurance - Walking is a high risk activity and it is advised that you take out travel insurance for the duration of your holiday to cover cancellation, injury, death, loss or damage to possessions and liability. All overseas visitors must have insurance to cover accident and repatriation. Activities in the outdoors are potentially hazardous by their nature and participants must accept a certain element of risk.

4) Safety - In the interest of group safety the group must abide by the decisions of the guide and the group should stay together at all times during the course of the walks. The guide must be notified if you suffer from any medical condition or are taking medicine likely to interfere with your walking ability. People whose fitness level is deemed not suitable for the intended walking programme may be asked to make alternative arrangements, if this is likely to affect the rest of the group. No compensation can be offered for this.

Lomond Walking Holidays reserves the right to refuse to escort persons whose equipment is not suitable for the hill walking undertaken. This is at discretion of your guide. The weather conditions can be very severe in Scotland and you MUST be properly equipped .

5) Complaints procedure: In the unlikely event of a complaint please inform your leader immediately. If you have a complaint after your holiday please write within 28 days with full details and the dispute or claim will be processed and dealt with according to Scottish Law and Custom.

6) Booking Form - in order to ensure your holiday place, it is your responsibility to complete the booking form and give full details of your experience complete with a signed declaration. Where one signature is present on a form for a multiple booking this indicates that the person signing accepts Lomond Walking Holidays booking conditions on behalf of their group who should all have read this agreement and accept to be bound by the outlined conditions.

7) Accommodation: You are authorising us to act as your agent in respect of booking accommodation for your walk. We agree to take payments and make the payments on your behalf but the payment remains your responsibility.

8) At time of publication all details are believed to be correct. We reserve the right to alter the information, prices and itineraries in the brochure before accepting a booking. In these cases changes will be binding on both parties.
